Need more proof positive that Hampton Roads’ approximately 1.6 million citizens make us diverse? Hampton Roads is a region which includes urban, suburban and rural communities, prosperous as well as distressed areas.
While our strong military presence is a major driver, collectively, of the Hampton Roads economy, the communities that make up our region are so much more. Hampton Roads is a “patchwork” of its own:
