Started in 2003, Community Matters brings together business, civic and community leaders to explore issues that impact Hampton Roads. Community Matters is sponsored by The Norfolk Foundation and the Economics Club of Hampton Roads. The Norfolk Foundation is the region’s largest grant and scholarship provider. Later in 2009, it will merge with the Virginia Beach Foundation to form the Hampton Roads Community Foundation. The Hampton Roads Economic Club was founded in 1991 by Old Dominion University and sponsors an annual series that brings experts to Hampton Roads to discuss timely economic topics.
